The File->Configure->Audio Alarms dialog
This dialog allows you to set Xastir up to play prerecorded audio files when certain events occur.
You must provide the name of a program that can play those audio files.
A selection of files for use in this feature can be found at https://github.com/Xastir/xastir-sounds
The files to be played must be in the "sounds" subdirectory of the system-wide Xastir share directory (either /usr/local/share/xastir or /usr/share/xastir, depending on how you installed Xastir).
For "band opening," the sound will play if any station is heard directly on RF (not the internet or through a digipeater) between the minimum and maximum distance from your station.
For "proximity alert" the sound will play any time a station transmits a position between the minimum and maximum distance from your station.
