There are a number of APRS packages from which to choose. So why choose Xastir?

  • Xastir provides APRS capabilities by linking your packet capable radio, your local computer and the internet. Most users control their radio with Xastir, and most link to their nearby APRSIS server.

  • Xastir is intended to be used with a display.

  • Xastir was originally designed for use on Unix based systems. It has been extended for use on Mac and Windows.

  • Xastir can display from a large choice of maps, both online and offline.

  • Xastir is designed in a modular way. This provides extensibility and choice.
