Setting up your interfaces
You create and modify interfaces through the Interface Control dialog. There, you can add, remove, start, stop, or change the parameters of interfaces.
Interface types
The various types of interfaces you can add are listed in the Interface Type Dialog, which is brought up by clicking "Add" in the Interface Control dialog.
Complete documentation of each interface type can be found on a page for its configuration dialog box, linked to from Interface Type Dialog.
A basic setup
In this section we give you an example of how you would go about setting up an Xastir station with one radio interface, an internet interface and a GPS interface.
From the Interface Control menu
Choose Add, which reveals the next menu
A basic internet setup is configured here
Use the APRS servers for your country or region, add your passcode and adjust the filter parameters.
Choose the correct radio interface for your setup, for example the KISS TNC.
For a separate GPS dongle, use the GPS interface
Whichever interfaces you are using, check each option available for your setup. Xastir will try to start the interface on pressing OK, and if unable will provide an error message.
Xastir only saves configuration on exit or when told to
Be sure to save your configuration with a clean shutdown of Xastir, or "File->Configure->Save Config Now!"
